How Planlark handles account data, lesson content, AI prompts, integrations, billing records, and school-related information.

Last updated March 12, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Planlark collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when people visit the public site, create accounts, use the planning workspace, connect third-party services, or interact with AI-powered features.

Planlark is designed for educators and school teams. The service is not intended for children to open direct consumer accounts on their own.

2. Information Planlark collects

Planlark may collect information you provide directly, information generated through product use, and limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service.

  • Account and profile information such as name, email address, password hash, organization membership, and account role.
  • Workspace and planning content such as lessons, objectives, materials, homework, notes, attachments, schedule structures, and uploaded files.
  • AI interaction data such as prompts, responses, usage metadata, workflow context, and operational logs used to provide and improve AI-assisted planning features.
  • Billing and subscription data such as plan, renewal status, invoices, receipts, payment status, and Stripe customer references.
  • Integration data such as Google Drive file selections, YouTube links, and related authorization metadata when those features are connected.
  • Technical and security data such as IP-derived security logs, browser or device type, cookies, session identifiers, and error telemetry.

3. How Planlark uses information

  • To create and manage accounts, organizations, subscriptions, and workspace permissions.
  • To provide lesson planning, scheduling, attachment management, AI, billing, and support workflows.
  • To secure the service, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, detect fraud, and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • To analyze usage, improve features, prioritize roadmap work, and understand where users experience friction.
  • To communicate about service updates, billing events, support follow-up, and material policy changes.

4. AI and third-party processing

Some features rely on third-party service providers. For example, Stripe processes payment information, Google may process data required for connected Drive flows, and AI providers may process prompts and outputs needed to return results.

Planlark does not treat AI output as guaranteed accurate, complete, or suitable for classroom use without human review. Users remain responsible for reviewing generated content before relying on it.

5. Cookies and local storage

Planlark uses cookies and similar browser storage for essential login sessions, active organization selection, interface preferences, security controls, and limited product functionality. Embedded third-party content may also set its own cookies when you interact with it.

For more detail, see the Cookie Policy.

6. Sharing and disclosure

  • With service providers who help operate infrastructure, payments, storage, analytics, AI processing, or support operations.
  • With organization owners or authorized administrators who manage shared school or team workspaces.
  • When required by law, court order, regulation, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Planlark, its users, or the public.
  • As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

7. Student, classroom, and school-related data

Because Planlark is used in educational settings, users should avoid placing unnecessary sensitive student information into free-form AI prompts or attachments unless they are authorized to do so by their school or district. For school-specific expectations, see the School and Student Data Notice.

Schools and educators remain responsible for deciding what data is appropriate to place in the service and for meeting their own FERPA, COPPA, contractual, and district policy obligations.

8. Retention and deletion

Planlark keeps information for as long as it is reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Some operational logs may be retained for shorter periods than core account or billing records.

Users may request deletion of their account data, subject to billing, security, school, and legal retention requirements.

9. Security

Planlark uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. No internet service can promise absolute security, so users should maintain strong credentials and avoid storing information in the platform that they are not authorized to store there.

10. Rights and choices

  • You may update basic account information from your account settings.
  • You may cancel paid subscriptions through the billing portal or account owner billing controls.
  • You may manage cookie settings in your browser and clear local storage directly on your device.
  • For privacy requests, support questions, or data access and deletion inquiries, contact support@planlark.app.
